Our Story

Hey everyone! Danny here and this is my story.

I grew up in a traditional Lao family where flavorful, spicy food was a central part of our everyday meals. As a kid, I developed a deep love for the bold and vibrant flavours of my culture's cuisine. But as I ventured into the world of culinary exploration, I found myself searching for the perfect chilli oil that could capture the authentic flavors I cherished from my childhood.

The idea sparked back in Christmas of 2023 when we decided to make chilli oil as gifts for our friends and family. To our surprise we received many compliments on how tasty our chilli oil was and "jokingly" told me I should start selling it! A light bulb moment went off in my head and decided to make it a reality.

Countless hours of kitchen experimentation went into perfecting the recipe to ensure a high-quality product with no nasties, such as MSG, and it is gluten-free and vegan-friendly. We craft our chilli oil with love in small batches to ensure that every jar meets our high standards of quality and flavour.

Who is Baby D and why the name? The name is inspired by our mischievous Beagle named Doris. Doris has a habit of picking chilli off our garden trees and bringing them inside to play with, and no she does not eat them. 😊
